Lou LaRocca
Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer

Lou LaRocca has 20 years' experience as a software developer, systems designer, and executive with expertise in business applications, internet content and services, and technology consulting. As President and CEO of J2 Interactive, Lou manages the company’s business development, finance, staffing, and operational activities. He was the lead developer for several key clients in J2’s early years, most notably LifePoint Informatics, and still loves to write code whenever he gets a chance.

Prior to founding J2, Lou spent seven years at Kenan Systems Corporation, where he began as a software developer and IT consultant for clients such as Fidelity Investments, Hewlett-Packard, and the U.S. Postal Service. He played a key role in the establishment of Kenan’s product division, building and ultimately directing a business unit responsible for a suite of business intelligence applications for telecommunications companies.

Soon after Kenan Systems was acquired by Lucent Technologies in 1999, Lou joined JuniorNet Corporation, where he first worked alongside Mickey Yalon. As CTO and VP of Operations, respectively, Lou and Mickey led JuniorNet’s team of multimedia developers, systems engineers, database architects, and quality assurance staff through three major release cycles of a content-rich and safe online service for children.

Lou holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science, summa cum laude, from Harvard College.

Mickey Yalon
Founder, Vice President, and Chief Technology Officer

Mickey Yalon has over 15 years of expertise in large-scale systems architecture, database design, application development, and integration projects both inside and outside the healthcare industry. As Vice President and CTO of J2 Interactive, Mickey is responsible for overseeing all of J2’s software development and system implementation efforts.

From the beginning, Mickey has been the lead architect and developer on most of J2’s biggest projects, and he frequently takes a direct, hands-on role in J2’s most important and challenging assignments. Most recently, Mickey has been the HealthShare solution architect for all three of J2's health information exchange clients in the United States:  LIPIX, BHIX, and HIXNY.

Even on those projects where he doesn’t play an implementation role, Mickey continues to personally mentor our team leads and engineers in every aspect of their work, from architecture and design to testing methodologies. Every one of our clients has benefited at one time or another from Mickey’s expertise and his commitment to delivering on our promises.

Mickey holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of California at Davis.
