MedPlus, the software division of Quest Diagnostics, offers health care providers a comprehensive suite of applications for managing electronic patient records, lab orders and results, and other healthcare documents.

For over four years, J2 provided staff augmentation to MedPlus' product development organization—as many as six resources across two development groups.  Our web application developers assisted MedPlus' Care360 team through many software development and release cycles, designing and implementing application feature enhancements using Caché WebLink and EWD.  J2 also played a major role in helping MedPlus architect and build the Data Exchange Services layer of MedPlus' Ensemble-based health information exchange solution.

For both Care360 and Data Exchange Services, J2 resources not only worked to develop and enhance the core product, but also made significant contributions to customer implementations in the field.  The versatility of our Caché and Ensemble resources allowed MedPlus to trust us with a broad range of special projects over the years, including an online quiz for employment candidates, a prototype Ensemble production to process lab orders and results, and a Java class to facilitate communication between Ensemble and IBM WebSphere MQ’s Java Message Service (JMS) provider.
