New Century Health (NCH) is the first Integrated Single Specialty Provider (ISSP) focused on providing comprehensive management solutions to the oncology market. Designed to make oncology practices run more efficiently, NCH is a cost-effective solution for payers and a valuable resource and advocate for oncologists and their very specific, complex needs.

NCH's software infrastructure, built primarily in Caché, also includes significant amounts of code in other technologies such as Java and PHP.  To meet the challenge of managing this diverse and growing code base, NCH reached out to J2 to create a source code control solution based on the Perforce platform.  Drawing upon ideas from InterSystems as well as lessons learned from our own in-house development environment, we designed and implemented a solution that integrated Perforce into Caché Studio, allowing NCH developers to work collaboratively on their Caché Object Script code.

In addition to check-out and check-in of individual Caché classes and routines, the solution supports easy version comparison as well as code labels, branches, merges, and automated deployment of code patches to production servers.  Just as important, the NCH development team is able to use the same source code management tools in Caché that they use for their other programming languages.
